To accommodate our new students Horizon has purchased two new classrooms, with a third scheduled for delivery in the near future.
Horizon secured a Commonwealth Government Block Grant for two new science laboratories. These have just been delivered and students and teacher are eagerly awaiting their use following the completion of final works.
Horizon’s continuing facilities expansion includes a third computing centre. Planned to accommodate 38 computers, this new learning area is expected to be operational for the start of term 3 this year.
Principal Mike Clisby said “These new facilities will add even more depth and strength to our Information Technology learning programme for students”.
With the growth in student numbers, Horizon created extra classes at year 2 and in each of the middle school classes, year 7, 8 and 9. This ensured that the class sizes remain smaller and enable a continuation of quality care for children and their learning.
Horizon’s forward planning includes the possibility of a new language centre, library and multipurpose gymnasium/ hall as part of the Rudd Government ‘Building the Education Revolution’.
